Questions About Listening to YouTube with the Screen Off

Ground Music is a free Android player that keeps YouTube music playing when you lock your phone or switch apps. Background play, audio mode, synced lyrics, channel pages, playlists and autoplay radio — everything in one lightweight app.

Listen to YouTube Music with the Screen Off

Open the Lyrics tab to sing along. The current line is highlighted and scrolls with the music, so you always know where you are in the song. Lyrics open right inside the player — no need to leave the app or search the web. Lyrics not quite right? Edit the text yourself, or use Adjust timing to bring the lines back in sync with the song.

Synced Lyrics That Follow the Song

While the screen is off or you are in another app, Ground Music shows a full media notification with the song artwork. Pause, skip, seek or save the song to Favorites right from the notification shade or lock screen — no need to open the app.

Control Your Music from the Notification Bar and Lock Screen

Collect your favorite songs into playlists, or open any YouTube playlist with dozens of tracks. Press Play All or Shuffle, turn the screen off and let the music run — ideal for sleeping, studying and working.

Build Playlists and Play Them All Night

Turn on Autoplay and Ground Music builds a radio of similar songs, so the music never stops after the last track. Open the queue to see what is coming next, drag songs into a new order, remove the ones you do not like or clear the whole list.

Endless Music with Autoplay and a Flexible Queue

Type a song title, an artist or a few words you remember — Ground Music searches the whole YouTube catalog and returns official videos, audio versions, covers and lyric videos in seconds. Tap a result and it starts playing in the background right away.

Find Any Song, Playlist or Artist on YouTube

Want to see the official MV? Video mode plays the picture right inside the player, together with the title, view count, channel and related videos. When you only want to listen, one tap on the mode button switches back to audio without interrupting the song.
